Pros

This used to be an outstanding place to grow a career path. Core values were respected and adhered to. Company was family friendly and encouraged a work life balance that was like no other. Leadership was respectful and actually cared about your career growth.

Cons

Once Satcom Direct and Gogo finalized their merger things quickly started to unravel. Gogo’s President and Vice President were quickly replaced with Satcom Direct leadership. Satcom Direct employees then began taking over departments and running the show. Hybrid work schedule was quickly cancelled for “return to office” policy with no time for people to make accommodations for kids, pets, etc. This put many employees in a bad place. Management has no idea how to merge the two companies for success or where to even start the process. Two rounds of layoffs were already completed, and I heard that more are coming for tenured people at Gogo. Now morale is at an all-time low, and people are filled with dread thinking that they could be next. Meanwhile Starlink is cranking out satcom installs on private jets in record numbers.

Pros

It's the best place to work if you like being treated like a child.

Cons

Don't believe the good reviews. Satcom Direct and their leaders have destroyed Gogo. The culture in Colorado has slowly been dismantled and replaced by a strict, militaristic style of managing and processes. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. Teams that were once cohesive and effective have been torn apart with reorganizations, resignations, and layoffs. Everyone answers to multiple micromanagers who do not know how to lead. Every 15 minutes of your day is examined and criticized. No talking, unless it's work related. Don't stop typing. Don't suggest improvements or question the roadmap, because SD does everything perfectly, even when they don't. Just follow orders and put on a happy face.
