Pros
- Good office location - Knowledgable & friendly colleagues - Ok workload
Cons
- High turnover rate, most staff are recently hired. - Lack of/ unclear company direction, especially since a large portion of the senior staff (such as the VP, department head & product managers) have resigned. - False promises - Recruiters promised an attractive bonus package of up to 6 months. None of the staff have received such bonuses yet. - If you are like me, not Chinese/don't speak Chinese, don't come here or be prepared to be excluded from most conversations. - Broken points system. Projects are given a fixed amount of points based on their budget. However, due to shifting goalposts, projects usually extend beyond the given timeframe, and the points run out. Then subsequent tasks are done for free. You have to earn 66% of your salary in points to pass probation so this makes career progression difficult. - Toxic Manager. Do not come here unless you are masochistic. The one who came up with the point system, but he does not seem to understand how it works. Frequently instruct product managers to give out the points freely, then scolds them when the points naturally run out. Irresponsibly told staff to "reject tasks that have zero points" even though the project would not be completed if the task is not done. Because he lacks business and technical sense, he makes up for it with mirco-management. Expect to be publicly shouted at for insignificant mistakes like a wrongly labeled Jira ticket. He takes his anger out on staff under the pretense of "helping them" and the staff is constantly in fear of triggering him. His point system and foul attitude have driven off the majority of the senior staff, leaving him in charge. Since he is protected by the parent company, he is untouchable even by HR.
