Pros
If you are a manager there really aren't any but associates are treated better
Cons
GMs are held to a higher standard than any other position in the company. GMs are known for being written up/terminated that DMs and everyone else aren't (ie. COVID violations). GMs are overworked and it is common knowledge amongst the GMs, that if you keep your head down and do as they say you will get a raise. But the moment that you question anything, upper management is working to get rid of you (illegally might I add). In the last 6 months 7 minority GMs were terminated for either COVID or Insubordination but there is no evidence showing it. If they do show evidence, most of the time it is not valid but will still try to fire you. Even if you challenge their decision for wrongful write-ups or termination, they will pull other issues that were never addressed to pin on you. They also do not train you properly and the moment you make a mistake they are ready to get rid of you. NO WORKLIFE BALANCE as a GM even though they tell you to take your days off, you still receive phone calls from upper management to do work even though we upload our schedules for upper management to know we are working.
