- barely get increases (1-3% per year) - upper management doesn't know what they're doing, very disorganized and just throw a bunch of responsibilities at employees with no direction and no understanding of realistic expectations - their MO is throw you into the fire and figure it out -> no guidance or mentorship - increases in responsibility are disguised as 'opportunity' instead of actually getting a pay raise for what your doing outside the scope of your responsibilities - the demote/fire people they don't like/get along with but do it in a sneaky way, slowly taking responsibilities off your plate as if they are trying to help you - office culture is full of drama and gossip spreads fast
