Pros
cool restaurant in a pretty area, thats the only upside
Cons
Horrible management. You are not paid for before or after closing and opening work which usually takes anywhere from an hour to two hours, Which is two hours you are not getting paid. If you don't make minimum wage with tips the system wont let you close out and since the managers leave as soon as the restaurant closes you have to just put in an amount that lets you leave. Because if you don't close out you get in trouble/ practically cannot leave. If anyone that isn't "new" (which is a small handful because anyone that has the chance to quit does) or the managers decides they don't like you, you get blacklisted from getting any section that you could make a reasonable amount of money in, and are then assigned the most time consuming closing work. So then not only are you not making any money, then not even being able to make it known you did not break minimum wage, you're also staying longer than 95% of the other servers. When you are interviewed you are told that the jobs tough because it is outdoors in the Texas heat, while the heat does get a little unbearable it does not compare in the slightest to how bad the managers and the "long term" employees treat you. If you got this far, and can almost guarantee you that you will be better off working at a fast food restaurant, and probably make more as well.
