They say to work here, you have to enjoy a fast-paced environment and embrace rapid change. What they mean is “we’re going to change our business priorities every quarter, making it impossible for you to align your job title and responsibilities with current company requirements", so you’re going to fall short even if you’re good at your job.
Tbh, being good at your job isn’t even important to them. It’s all about “culture fit”, which means blindly sacrificing your entire life for the good of “The Tribe”.
They like to make you feel like nothing you do is ever good enough. People have said to me that they feel like they have to give 120% just to keep their job, let alone to get promoted. This seems to be part of a general plan to jusitfy low wages (especially, but not limited to the training department).
Employees are really judged on for wanting a reasonable work/life balance, and are expected to spent significant chunks of time outside of work hours working or upskilling, even at weekends. Sure they say they promote a healthy work-life balance but that’s 100% not true.
Management don’t seem to have any desire to manage or skill at managing people, with the exception of the sales department, which seems healthy. There is little to no empathy among managers and a general distrust of HR.
