Pros
Guru fosters a collaborative environment with some of the brightest minds I've encountered in my career. The company culture prioritizes both professional growth and personal well-being, creating a healthy work-life balance for employees. Despite ongoing product direction discussions, the CEO's leadership and unwavering dedication inspire confidence in Guru's ability to compete in the AI-driven knowledge management landscape.
Cons
During my time at Guru, the company's product direction and vision seemed to shift frequently, making it unclear who the ideal customer was. The knowledge management space has become crowded, with many companies (including Guru, Notion, and Glean) adding AI features. This saturation may make it difficult for Guru to stand out. Over the past two years, there has been a decrease in transparency from leadership. This, combined with the five rounds of layoffs (despite reassurances that they wouldn't happen again), has eroded trust within the company.
