Pros
Peers are generally nice and in the same boat as you.
Cons
-Everything else. You are hired to scam small businesses but masquerading as an account manager. Your job is to trick businesses into opting into Gusto's Premium Plan even though these businesses don't need or want it. -Churn counts against your goal even though you have almost no control over it. -Leadership substitutes actual support for you with AI tools that are shoved down your throat. Most are borderline useless but you are penalized for not using them. -Attrition is ridiculously high. I've been here 6 months and seen 20% of the team leave or get fired. -Leadership is clueless and unhelpful. This is the case for a lot of tech companies but these are truly some of the most incompetent leaders I've worked with in years. They don't care about you, only stuffing their own pockets. Steer clear of this role (& the post-sale/expansion org) if you have any meaningful work experience. This is NOT a CSM role. You are hired to scam small businesses, that is it. Doing what's right for the customer isn't even an afterthought for this company.
