Female owner was incompetent, Manager enjoyed creating drama and manipulating staff to create more drama, both were disrespectful and patronizing to staff, high job expectations for low pay with minimal support, I knew multiple staff to have panic attacks before going in and high turnover of staff for all of the previously listed reasons.
-Easy job
-Pleasant co-workers (except for the management)
Cons
The turnover rate was really high for all positions because the manager was a patronizing, power-tripping nightmare. All the RMTs knew it. Even the receptionists and cleaners knew it. The cleaners left shortly after I was let go for taking two weeks of vacation. They made me sign a letter of resignation even though they were letting me go. I already wrote mine so it worked out anyway but everyone I talked to said it was illegal. They also were late with paying employees. Another employee wrote a post about that. They say the wage is $15-$18 but when I tried to talk about making more than minimum the manager angrily shut me down. You felt like you were walking on egg shells when you worked with the manager. You never knew which side of them you were going to get. The empathetic and understanding boss or the catty and micromanaging one. A bit of a Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde character. You would think someone who managed a spa would have more tact and humility. This is not the case. Unless you're desperate for minimum wage and being treated like a child, you're better off working somewhere else.
