Pros

Lots of adjustments going on as Vermont has made necessary changes to be in compliance with federal law.

Cons

In the past client-centered care was at the forefront when making business decisions and staff satisfaction was held to a high standard as well. As they pivot to a different funding model some decisions seem to be made without consideration of all ramifications.

Pros

good medical benefits, good time off, union for counselors, great coworkers

Cons

*Changing Mission as of 4/2026 to include limited client time 1:1, over- booked schedules ( intentionally), *Mandating paperwork be done during client session ( takes away from clinical time and is inappropriate for a clinical session.) *Company mandating FT therapists maintain 7 hours of booking time per day of an 8 hour day and are only paid for a 37.5 hour week on salary. *Significantly below salary standards in similar settings. Salaries are NOT changing with this new model. *All paperwork mandated to be done same day.

Our transition to the CCBHC model represents a meaningful shift in how we deliver care, and we recognize that as with any transformation, there can be questions and concerns. Important components like workload, clinical time, and work-life balance are critical to factor in and are part of almost every conversation about our CCBHC transformation. This work is grounded in a goal we care deeply about: improving access to timely care, strengthening coordination, and creating more sustainable systems for both clients and staff. Key changes, like same-day documentation and more structured scheduling, are intended to reduce delays, support better continuity of care, and minimize the need for after-hours work. We also know that how these changes feel in practice matters just as much as their intent. We are continuing to provide training, gather feedback, and make adjustments to support staff in delivering care in ways that feel clinically appropriate and sustainable. We appreciate your recognition of our supervisors—they play a critical role in supporting staff every day. For any staff who are experiencing concerns or feeling the impact of these changes, we strongly encourage you to connect with our Human Resources Director – Jessica Stehle. We are committed to listening and working through challenges together. At HCRS, we care deeply about both the people we serve and the people who do this work. That commitment continues to guide us as we navigate this transition.
