Pros

- Ethical and competent leadership. -Visibility into the organization's plans. -Open door policy (i.e. indirect mentorship) - Transparency in performance and provides financial information to all employees. - All employees can become owners with their stock ownership program (ESOP). -Year-end bonus for all employees. -Allows and encourages participation in professional organizations. -Innovation lab initiative- this allows all employees to submit improvement ideas to the leadership team. This recent initiative is changing the company's operation in a great way. -Diversity and Inclusion- the new CEO has launched this initiative which is great for minorities and women working in the company. -Onboarding foundation training (2 days at their HQ in Cedar Rapids, Iowa). This allows all employees to learn about HR Green and AE industry. -pay check 401k match ( $0.5 for $1 up to 6% of base pay). No vesting required. -Standard PTO- Starts with 3 weeks that increases with your years of experience. (Advice for new hires: negotiate or ask about your PTO before you join. HR doesn’t count certain work experience which comes as a shocker if you haven't had the conversation.) -Great work culture. Everybody respects each employees time and talents. Nobody talks down and haven't yet seen a verbal altercation.

Cons

-Not a lot of technically advanced project opportunities that company's like AECOM, Stantec or CDM would provide. -You will become the jack of all and master of none at this company. If that is something that you do not want then do not pursue a career with HR Green. -Low base pay. Their salary range for each position is based on Midwest pay scales which doesn't apply to other geographies like Colorado, California, and Texas. Senior leadership fails to understand this pay difference. Advice for new hires - negotiate before you join. Typical year-end raises are 2-3.5% and on promotion you may get 5-8%. -The HR department can do a lot better than what they are doing in terms of recruiting efforts and addressing employee issues. It is my personal opinion that the HR department is understaffed which makes them slow and inefficient. -Behind its competitor with regards to technology. Only senior staff gets laptops which basically dissolves a great advantage of their cloud infrastructure.

Pros

Incredible people to work with, great atmosphere, everyone is respectful and treat each other like family. The interview process was smooth and straightforward, it felt more like a conversation than an interview.

Cons

Onboarding was a bit overwhelming but nothing to complain about.
