Pros
Good place to learn skills for excel and powerpoint
Cons
The firm promotes a strong culture, but my experience didn’t fully reflect that. The environment often felt performative, happy hours and awards on the surface, but inconsistent support and leadership underneath. In my role, I found it challenging to grow professionally or feel consistently supported.
The PTO policy is described as flexible, but in practice, the culture discouraged taking meaningful time off. There was a consistent expectation to be online, even on weekends or while traveling. While that might be common in some finance environments, it felt at odds with the firm’s emphasis on culture and work-life balance.
For those looking to build advanced modeling skills or explore future opportunities in larger firms, be aware that exposure may be limited. While some valuation work is done, it generally follows established templates, with less emphasis on DCFs or full-scope modeling.
I understand the firm is proud of its hiring stats and awards, and I respect the vision behind building an alternative to Wall Street. But in my case, that vision didn’t align with the day-to-day experience, particularly in terms of mentorship, skill development, and culture.
This review is offered in the spirit of transparency, to help others make an informed decision. If your values and goals align closely with the firm’s, you may have a great experience. I just didn’t.
