Pros

Harris Teeter pays me well for my position. I have the same hours every shift although I do not always work the same days of the week. The hours (6am to 2:30pm) allow me to make plans easier. The benefits are nice along with the semi-annual profit sharing check. Peer employees feel like family.

Cons

I work almost every weekend. I am full time, meaning I cannot set an availability. I must keep my schedule open for any day at any time. Part time employees are allowed to say what times and days they want to work without any struggle from management. That means the majority of people working on the weekends are full time associates. I find this senseless. I am constantly overwhelmed with work and receive no help when I ask for it. There are very few people in fresh foods who know how to decorate cakes and recently, the only other person in the department who knows how to decorate has been placed in other positions such as slicing meat or making sandwiches on the weekend when I need help badly to tackle a stack of orders and an empty case.
