Pros

A global corporation looks great on a resume. Perks are sweet - lots of paid vacation/holidays, half day Fridays, flex hours, etc. Participating in events/traveling is awesome. Plus access to cool toys.

Cons

While there's seemingly much opportunity within a huge corporation, employees get pigeon-holed into their role. Management *says* there's room for growth and exploring new job possibilities. In my years with Hasbro, management did little to elevate my current position (or attain an alternative role) to place me on a solid career path. Unfortunately, as with any major corporation, you are a drop in the bucket. They want you to stay on autopilot in your role and hit your marks everyday. You have to either schmooze your supervisor to get a promotion, or schmooze people in other departments to move onto a different role. It's all about who you know....and little to do with your hard work, creativity, or potential. It's a great company if you want to coast -- not if you want to grow. Finally, the company's fake interest in "wokeness" or "diversity & inclusiveness" is sickening. It's a complete lie. When you hear your managers flat out telling you they're seeking diverse candidates, it's not for the betterment of our community. Managers do this to get golden stars from upper management, and the corporation is using a phony marketing tactic to preserve their "precious" image in front of the even phonier media. You'd think employees would see through the completely bogus initiative to hire more diverse candidates; but there are many weak-minded sheep who fall for this unnecessary pandering....and I say this as someone who could easily use my diverse background to manipulate my way through this fabricated system.

Pros

The compensation and benefits package appeared competitive compared to similar roles in the industry. The team members I met during the interview process were generally personable, professional, and knowledgeable about their work. The company also presents itself as collaborative and employee-focused during recruitment.

Cons

The hiring and onboarding process lacked organization, consistency, and internal alignment. Communication between Talent Acquisition, hiring management, and leadership appeared disconnected, resulting in conflicting information regarding fundamental terms of employment. After progressing through multiple interview rounds and receiving both verbal and written offers, critical details surrounding the position’s reporting expectations and work location changed unexpectedly immediately prior to the anticipated start date. The situation was handled poorly, with inconsistent messaging from different parties and limited accountability for the confusion. Attempts to professionally discuss potential solutions and compromises were met with resistance and ultimately resulted in the offer being rescinded. The overall experience reflected a lack of coordination between departments and created significant concern regarding internal communication, leadership alignment, and employee onboarding practices. For a large, established company, the process felt surprisingly unstructured and reactive.
