Pros

Unlimited PTO ability to work remote great benefits Leadership seems to be very transparent and seems to sincerely care about the team members experience Seems like a great company to work for. Health Catalyst acquired the company I worked for, so I was only part of the HC team for around 6 months.

Cons

Unfortunately I am one of the HCI team members whose position was eliminated in one of the reorgs. I do understand the business reasons for the reorg. It would have been nice to have been trained on the new technology that HC has, as the HCI team has/had an amazing team of very talented and smart individuals. I do know we can apply for any open position within HC, but I was hoping to have had an opportunity to learn new things while employed to transition to a HC role in the future.

Thank you for sharing this review, and I am very sorry that we weren't able to extend our working relationship with you. As we discussed in the all-hands call last week, as we went through the 2019 planning process, and worked through the current state of the HCI business, we needed to make some adjustments which included identifying some positions as no longer financially sustainable. This was a difficult process for Carol and the HCI leadership team because of the strong contributions of the individuals who were operating in those positions that were no longer financially sustainable. Please know that I would be happy to visit and try to be of help to you as you think about what is next, and for the next three years if you find an open position at Health Catalyst that is of interest, you will be guaranteed an interview and serious consideration for that position. I also wanted to thank you for the more than five years of contributions that you made to Medicity, and then for a short while, to Health Catalyst. I wish you success in your future endeavors and am ready to help if you feel I can be of assistance to you. Best, Dan

Pros

Great Talent & Culture: The people here are highly capable, collaborative, and committed to helping each other succeed. The partnership between onshore and offshore teams works well and is a real strength. There’s a culture of grit and stability that has helped the company navigate multiple major transitions over the years. Mission-Critical Engineering: The work involves complex data infrastructure that requires deep technical expertise. It can be demanding, but seeing these systems run successfully and support real-world operations is consistently rewarding.

Cons

Wage Compression and Retention Risk: Compensation for tenured and high-performing staff has not kept pace with the market for specialized data engineering and support leadership. In practice, tenure can feel undervalued or even penalized. This creates risk around losing institutional knowledge and operational continuity. Stagnant Career Progression: Contrary to stated expectations, strong performance ratings do not consistently translate into meaningful, market-aligned compensation growth. The process of how compensation is benchmarked lacks clarity in practice, obscuring how compensation decisions are made and what is required to advance.
