Pros

I’ve been a Health Catalyst team member for 2 1/2 years and I’m incredibly thankful to be apart of this wonderful company. The CEO is the kindest man who continually exhibits meaningful core principles and values that anyone would want to work with. The generosity and compensation package is beyond what I have been offered in 20 plus years of my career. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow professionally and contribute to the success of this company and the growth in years to come.

Cons

None that are big enough to even mention.

Thank you for your kind words and for your review and feedback. I'm so grateful that you and your colleagues in abstraction in the Phoenix area were able to join us 2 1/2 years ago. It has been such a privilege to be your colleague and to witness the impact that you have within the healthcare ecosystem. I'm really excited for Health Catalyst to do more and more of this outsourcing work, as it is so deeply aligned with our mission, and our differentiation as a best place to work as well. And the individuals involved in clinical abstraction work are some of the most mission-aligned, committed, and genuinely good people I've ever met. Grateful to be your teammate! Best, Dan

Pros

Great Talent & Culture: The people here are highly capable, collaborative, and committed to helping each other succeed. The partnership between onshore and offshore teams works well and is a real strength. There’s a culture of grit and stability that has helped the company navigate multiple major transitions over the years. Mission-Critical Engineering: The work involves complex data infrastructure that requires deep technical expertise. It can be demanding, but seeing these systems run successfully and support real-world operations is consistently rewarding.

Cons

Wage Compression and Retention Risk: Compensation for tenured and high-performing staff has not kept pace with the market for specialized data engineering and support leadership. In practice, tenure can feel undervalued or even penalized. This creates risk around losing institutional knowledge and operational continuity. Stagnant Career Progression: Contrary to stated expectations, strong performance ratings do not consistently translate into meaningful, market-aligned compensation growth. The process of how compensation is benchmarked lacks clarity in practice, obscuring how compensation decisions are made and what is required to advance.
