Pros

The mission of the company itself is wonderful and the material they teach others on how to become a successful Health Coach is fantastic. Great money if you are willing to sell your soul to just making your career in this position your main priority.

Cons

The fact that they don't allow their employees (especially the SALES team) to have that work-life balance and allow them to have positive, healthy lifestyles that they teach in their program. Also, the sales team isn't even encouraged to go through the program that they are selling (which makes sense). They say you can go through it in your own time, but hard to do when you are working 60-80hrs per week. Instead, they would rather turn and burn employees and just hire more to replace you if not hitting a goal. Not a good fit for anyone with any type of family and other priorities in life.

Pros

My co-workers are awesome. We work hard but it's collaborative. I feel a part of a team that's trying to do great work. I'm learning and growing. I've never had a job that I cared about so much. I want to win. I want the company to succeed. Big bonus that it's a remote company so I can work from home which I like.

Cons

We have a lot of great ideas and unfortunately not enough budget or person power to implement them. Sprint deadlines can be stressful, but that's normal at any job. I wish we would have in person company retreats so we can feel more connected since we are a remote company.

Pros

$600 allowance to buy cpu or tech equipment No commute to work-remote No dress code No drug test, if your into that sort of thing. Thousands of unqualified leads to work, being busy not a problem Some qualified inbounds from call center, maybe 2-4/d The stories you'll hear from students

Cons

Work-Life Balance non existent. Expectations are 12hrs a day, 60-70hr work weeks or basically whatever it take meet an arbitrary quota that really has no rhyme or reason to it from one rep to the next. Pay is below industry average. It is not 100k/yr position as advertised. Extremely small percentage of team on pace to earn that. Base is low. Expect a minimum 60/40 split to hit that 100k, with 60% being straight taxable commission/bonus. Comp plan is more like a commission role, where you'll earn minimum federally allowable salary to be Overtime exempt. Hence the overtime demands. You'll be told with a straight face to be available from 8:30AM-3AM EST (next day) to accommodate all US Time Zones in "CrunchTime". Get ready for "weekends" lots of them. Turnover rate is very high even for sales. Epic micro managing.

Health Coach Institute Response

Let us start by thanking you for taking the time to write Health Coach Institute a review on Glassdoor. Our mission to become a major disrupter of the U.S. healthcare system by changing the way healthcare is addressed on both a national and global scale is an ambitious goal and it is one we are all working hard to achieve. As a major advocate of health and wellness, work/life balance is certainly important to us.The Clarity Coach (CC) position is a particularly unique sales role within our company, since our CCs aim to connect with prospective students when they are most available to speak. Our prospective students have jobs, families and/or other obligations, which means some may only be available to speak at 8 am while others may only available at 8 pm. Our CCs understand the importance of being flexible and accommodating to the availability of our prospective students and managing their time well to meet their quotas. It is why we seek self-driven, experienced, sales professionals who thrive in working remotely from their home office and do not mind the extended work hours.- On average, the number of hours worked per week for a CC is around 55 hours. We only require our Clarity Coaches to work for one weekend for 6 hours every 6-7 weeks.- Right now, the average annual salary of a Clarity Coach is $85k - $110k. We currently offer a nationally competitive base salary of $42,000 for phone-based sales, plus commission, bonuses, and full benefits. We are in the process of moving to Salesforce in March 2020 to alleviate IT issues that have been shared with us from our team. Our Sales Management team all were sales reps for many years, with most working in the education industry and/or as a CC for a number of years. We have fun in what we do and we enjoy the camaraderie that is based on mutual respect and teamwork. We are not used to receiving one-star reviews, so it makes us unhappy to understand that your experience working here was unsatisfactory and that we possibly failed somewhere along the line. We value open and transparent communication at our company, and your honest feedback is greatly appreciated. It is important for us to hear what we are doing well and what we need to improve upon. Thank you again!
