Pros

In the past 9 months, the company has truly awoken to the need for diversity and inclusion. It's not just a bumper sticker. Generally speaking, the culture is not toxic.

Cons

In its media businesses (TV, Magazines, Newspapers), the drumbeat for 10% growth/year and penchant for elevating sales managers into executive leadership promotes penny pinching and small thinking rather than the risk taking needed to maintain viability. The intellectual muscle to think big is so rarely stretched that someone with gravitas and jazz hands can quickly steer things in the wrong direction.

Pros

Well-organized and good communication. As a contractor, I found Hearst to be a pleasure to work with.

Cons

I don't have any cons to report other than that the accounts payable is out of North Carolina and can take 60 days to receive payment.
