Pros

Henderson Blake is a small, start up company based in the Philippines. Management gives you the liberty and free-spirit to do as you please, as long as of course, Management is okay with it - That includes Beer at work on a Friday!

Cons

- False Expectations and a Cheat. Management said that they have great incentive bonuses, the reason why the base pay is low. for 6 consecutive months, we've hit the goals, but every time we do, the goals are changed, and we don't get any bonus for our hard work. Until I left the company, they never did gave us incentives. - Because of this, management tends to get fresh graduates. Those that are not aware of their labor rights allowing the management to overwork and underpay their employees. - Salary are delayed every once in a while and are suspiciously computed. - HB2HK is only there to attract employees. Since 2008, the year HB started, no HB employee has gone to Hong Kong in expense of the company! IT'S A LIE! - Mind you, the average expectancy of an employee who stays in HB is 8-12 months more or less due to below market salary, poor work life balance, friendship governance, and lies and false expectations. - The company's "Melbourne office" is just a rented address - a satellite office to make Aussie clients feel secure that HB really has shop in Melbourne. All operations are in reality are done in the Philippines, making it another lie.

Thanks for the feedback. As a company that believes that "if an employee looks after the company, the company must look after the employee", it is saddening that an employee such as yourself had a negative experience. While we don't seek to tell you that the way you feel about Henderson Blake is wrong, we feel it necessary to point out a few points. We pay our employees on the 10th and 25th of every month, specifically before midnight on these dates. It's been over five years that we have been in operation in the Philippines and we have never paid staff late. For our first year we used over the counter deposits and after that, online payroll deposits from the bank. We double checked our records and we've never paid late. On the subject of bonuses, our records indicate that every employee who has had six consecutive months of meeting their performance targets has been either given a pay-rise, given a promotion or given a bonus. You are correct that no employee has hit the eligibility target for HB2HK (an all expense paid trip to HK for the entire company). Our company wide incentive program had three levels of awards, the highest being HK. The first two levels which resulted in additional employee benefits have been met and awarded already. We look forward to going to HK in the future, once our company wide performance warrants such a large reward for the team. On the wider subject of incentives, we have awarded many promotions, salary increases and bonuses to employees based on their performance. Finally, we don't hide the fact that the majority of our work is performed in the Philippines. We believe the having our operations centre in Manila is a big part of why we can provide services to our clients that add value to their business. Our website proudly mentions the Philippine team and we actively let our clients know we have a Philippine office. Again, we thank you for your feedback. We have taken it on board to see if there are any areas we can improve to help our employees hit their goals and become happy and productive employees.

Pros

Henderson Blake is the fourth company that I worked with. I'm a Senior Web Developer there and for me this is the best employer I had so far. The company has a system which I think is a necessary thing to have in any company. For me this system will make an employee a better one . My co-workers are always delightful and I'm loving every minute working with them. My supervisor is great and very kind, my developer mates are great. All of them are AWESOME. :-D

They are very strict at punctuality.
