Pros
Great people in terms of intelligence, teamwork, and willingness to collaborate. Culture can be dry but not because of a lack of good people. Pay was also competitive, as well as benefits.
Cons
Upper management/Executive team are all Europeans from the company headquarters in Dusseldorf, Germany. This is a con as the leadership is from a distance, which is challenging in terms of understanding local issues. There was some sentiment that Americans were not as highly valued as their German counterparts. I saw evidence of this when asking about ex-pat assignments. It is rare for Americans to go to Dusseldorf but common for Europeans to be in North America. There was also a general lack of training in my department, which frustrated me, as I wanted to learn more to grow into new positions. Felt "contained" during the end of my time at Henkel.
