Pros

There are some talented and hardworking people here who genuinely try to make things better despite the challenges. You can self-learn a lot about how to handle ambiguity, build resilience, and communicate clearly when things aren’t clear. The pace forces you to get organized and manage your own boundaries, which can be valuable experience. It also helped me figure out what kind of environment and leadership style bring out my best work — one that values transparency, respect, and steady direction.

Cons

The company struggles with organizational structure, planning, and alignment, which makes it hard to execute projects or collaborate effectively across teams. Leadership changes made things even harder - every new person brought a different direction, so people had to keep rebuilding relationships while juggling heavy workloads. The culture often leaned toward finger pointing instead of teamwork, and feedback wasn’t always direct. It sometimes felt like things were driven more by perceptions and snap judgments than by open communication. Some roles seemed to be filled through personal connections instead of open postings, which made opportunities feel uneven. Behind the scenes, things could happen quietly, and sometimes stories were created afterward to explain decisions in a more positive light. It didn't feel like a growth-focused place grounded in learning, and it felt like you had to put your personal life aside just to keep the business going. Over time that dynamic becomes really hard to sustain.

Pros

Great Seattle office location by the water. That's all.

Cons

Terrible executive and senior leadership with no clear direction. Toxic culture of nepotism and favoritism, and just all around political games, using folks as political pawns / throwing them under the bus. It's very clear why they have not made Best Place To Work in years now. Do not come to HS. Look elsewhere.
