Pros
The people who work there (excluding upper management) are incredibly supportive, collaborative, and genuinely care about one another.
Cons
Poor leadership from upper management and completely ineffective HR support. Upper management is petty and unprofessional. Leadership doesn’t understand the actual workflow, but tries to micromanage while HR consistently gossips with staff about others. The lab is the company’s shtick, but leadership makes it known that they don’t care about the lab staff whatsoever. Communication is inconsistent, transparency is lacking, and employee concerns are frequently dismissed or deflected rather than addressed. Favoritism plays a role in promotions and exceptions, while other employees are required to wait for review cycles or “fight” for advancement. Chronic understaffing and excessive workloads are normalized, with little recognition or fair compensation for those taking on additional responsibilities. Promises regarding growth, cross-training, and support are often made but not followed through on, resulting in low morale and burnout.
