Pros

Organization is growing and there are plenty of projects and opportunities. Very big on safety and sincerely makes it a priority for employees and subcontractors. Salary is good but not sure how it compares to industry average. Benefits are great.

Cons

Corporate office is in Birmingham, AL and sometimes it feels like there is a disconnect between them and other offices (at least in my state). The company still operates like a small business as if everyone should know each other, which may be true for older employees, but newer employees don't know anyone from the corporate office. Not much training at all for new employees and you're just thrown into the fire and expected to know what to do. They give you a few binders which covers operations and safety but no one goes over any of it with you. So it's difficult when you're expected to follow certain procedures and get reprimanded for not following them when you didn't even know they existed to begin with. Hours are long, at least for my position, as we often work at least 60 to sometimes 90 hours a week. Corporate gives off the feeling of living in the old days when the company was much smaller....they struggle with making the transition from the past to the future...the new hire orientation was nothing but a history lesson on how the company started with lots of stories from the 80s and 90s, etc. I wish there would be more of a focus on the future and an emphasis on nurturing the new era of employees with a goal of taking the company to the next level in the next 20 years.
