Pros

My coworkers were very pleasant. We had just opened a brand new store when I was there so I'm not sure if all Home Goods do this, but sometimes the managers would bring doughnuts which I thought was nice.

Cons

Way too demanding for minimum wage and no opportunity for advancement. I also didn't like how they randomly "promoted" an employee who hardly worked the cash wrap to be a lead. They didn't ask anyone or announce it, just did it at random. He would stand there and just watch us a ring and bag. No real additional duties to justify the $1.00/hour pay increase. There was also an assistant manager who grabbed my arm once and then put her hands on my shoulders to "get my attention" Totally inappropriate. Use words not your body!

Pros

it is a job if you desperately need one

Cons

management does not keep promises (e.g. I was promised $2 higher pay upon accepting the position and later was told it wasn't feasible anymore once starting. I was also promised a specific day off then last minute had it revoked because they decided to make it a mandatory day). management does not listen to or care about its employees, very unprofessional. store managers don't want to do anything to help, they just sit in the office. management let other employees slack off and do nothing and expected others to compensate for their lack of effort general manager was horribly rude and misogynistic. he threw a box at someone while visiting.
