Pros

I was coordinator and I enjoyed merchandising and fixing up my area. You get to use your creativity, but you need to work fast. I had great managers for the most part. Thank god I was working at a combo store with tjmaxx, so hg associates did not have to cashier!!!!!

Cons

Standards changing all the time so we moved A lot of gondolas, tables, moving whole depts and glass shelves. There was always something to do, I always felt like I was power walking the whole time. Only coordinators get full time, part time can't receive more than 29 hours. If closing expect 3-4 associates scheduled. 6 days of processing since it was high volume store and many times felt like I was running out of steam and wondering where I put all these things.

Pros

it is a job if you desperately need one

Cons

management does not keep promises (e.g. I was promised $2 higher pay upon accepting the position and later was told it wasn't feasible anymore once starting. I was also promised a specific day off then last minute had it revoked because they decided to make it a mandatory day). management does not listen to or care about its employees, very unprofessional. store managers don't want to do anything to help, they just sit in the office. management let other employees slack off and do nothing and expected others to compensate for their lack of effort general manager was horribly rude and misogynistic. he threw a box at someone while visiting.
