Pros
It’s a job I thought I would like.
Cons
Was hired part time. Training was short and easy. Did not get the email they claim to have sent and had to be back and forth with HR toll free and store to finish my on boarding. Without that email I almost didn’t start the job. First three or so shifts the managers and coordinators behave like a principal walking around her school yard correcting behaviour and putting people in their place. Everyone wanted to be helpful by telling you how to do the job and pushing you around. It’s not worth the measly $14/hour and 10% discount that doesn’t even cover HST. The customers are entitled and at times curt. Finally did 3 shifts (part time) in my first week and forgot to check the schedule for the following week. Enquired on my upcoming shift and was told to call back when closing as it’s slow then, the manager began arguing with me about it being my responsibility to check the schedule. I agreed and explained I was so tired on my last shift I forgot. My legs were hurting so bad. It’s my fault their employee cards are on a piece of paper and their posted shifts are in a binder in the lunch room, how archaic.
