Pros
- Coworkers were extremely friendly and nice. - Once you're familiar with work, you will less likely be hassled by managers asking you to help them organize a department. - As a guy, slow days can be relaxing while you open boxes/rugs as the day continues on.
Cons
- The pay isn't great for the amount of work you do as a guy. You are expected to do most of the heavy lifting and do a moderate amount of physical labor. Most of the time, you will: - Open and process rugs for the rug department. - Moving boxes from a cargo truck into the backroom (labor intensive). - Move and lift heavy furniture from the backroom into the sales floor. - Help customers load heavy furniture into their car. The only best part of moving furniture is that you will have dollies and flatbeds to help you move them. So you could move furniture by yourself if you wanted, but it's best when there's another person helping you out. - Managers will ask you to organize a department either by personal choice or because of upper management. Regardless of what you do, you will still be asked and hassled.
