Absolutely No Pros at all

Founders are family members who have no idea what to build and how to get it done and have absolutely no idea about technology. They ask engineers what the company should do next. They lied to investors about products. They make sales and promise dates for the products that they don't even have or haven't even spoke about them internally. Managers struggle to create work for their engineers and then they task them with random stuff to do. Management talks a lot about vision and try to create enthusiasm but it's all just fake. Lot of politics. They merged with a company scheduleengine few years ago but try to hide it from the market. Scheduleengine clients thinks of homex as competition hence they hide it and assigns 2 emails to engineers with homex and scheduleengine domain names. If an engineer is tasked to work on something related to scheduleengine, they ask them to change their LinkedIn profile to working at scheduleengine rather than homex or hide their LinkedIn profile. They created a Augmented Reality demo to impress the investors and are asking engineers to build something similar for the next round of fund raising. Whereas they have no product vision or any idea what augmented reality is. They took Google sample app and modified it a bit. A lot of good engineers, managers, product managers, directors left the company. And a lot more are looking to move out. Founders unethically wanted to fire CTO and asked a VP to take their side and put blame for their own faults on the CTO. The VP didn't do it and left the company and the CTO quit as well. Then none of the executive management appeared at the town hall and asked another director to conduct townhall and also sent an email saying that VP and CTO are no longer with the company giving an impression that they were fired. When I got the job they really tried to sell the company hard to me during interviews but then the reality was totally opposite. If you have scheduled interview with this company .. RUN AWAY. Only join this company if you don't like your life. Even interns do not want to come back to this company. This startup is the worst of all times.

This has been one of the most fun and rewarding positions I have ever had in my career.

Pros

If you like a non traditional Monday to Friday schedule, this is the only pro to this job.

Cons

Low paying wage-$20/hr They offer incentives, but make it VERY hard to obtain them. VERY high volume call center, 70-100 calls a day! Rude and entitled customers you have to deal with! Management changes their minds on call taking procedures all the time! You get use to doing something, then the procedure is switched up randomly. They LOVE to micromanage their agents. They write you up for anything without giving warnings beforehand that you're on the brink. No appreciation for their CSR'S at all! No lunches or anything to build/keep morale in the call center.
