Pros

Great office and location. The parking is nice.

Cons

Business model is lacking. Not a true design engineering firm. Work in, work out mentality. Worker objectification is high which causes feelings of being unsafe with pettiness and game playing.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Horrocks left you feeling undervalued and disconnected. That is not the work environment we aim to foster, and it's clear from your comments that we missed the mark in your case. We hear your concerns about the company’s structure and culture, especially the feeling that people are treated more like numbers than individuals. That’s not acceptable, and it's something we are actively working to improve. Your feedback about the business model and internal dynamics is being taken seriously. We’re having important internal conversations about how we lead, how we treat people, and how we ensure HR and leadership are empowering—not enabling—the right kind of behavior. It’s never easy to read feedback like this, but it’s necessary. We're committed to making Horrocks a place where every employee feels respected, heard, and part of something meaningful. Thank you again for your honesty, and we wish you the best in your journey ahead.

Pros

Great benefits, You will most likely get paid more than the average engineering firm as far as marketing goes. Comp time for overhead employees is unique in this industry.

Cons

Lots of leadership changes in the Colorado office over the past few years. Because of this, there is a "make it or break it" kind of attitude in that region. As the only marketer in that office, there is little room for career growth or mentorship, unlike other regions of the company. Current leadership is very unwillingly to entertain outside opinions or perspectives. As a marketer, it was difficult to manage local expectations with corporate expectations and you are often told to "choose a side." This office takes "loyalty" very seriously and if you are seen as being on corporate's side or if they think you are sharing their operations with the corporate team, your job will be made very difficult. Women employees beware, your opinions will be minimized, regardless of experience or authority. Unless you're ready to "bend the knee" this is not the right place for you.
