Fun Time - Server Hot Chocolate Sparrow Employee Review

I worked at HCS as a high schooler over summers. In general, it was a fantastic first place to work. One major benefit is the owners and managers; they are very watchful over the establishment, and it was nice to feel supervised as a young employee. They are also very protective of their employees; I felt very supported, and on multiple occasions, they took my side against a difficult customer. For a food service job, the work is also pretty engaging. They make an effort to switch up duties throughout the day, so it never feels hugely monotonous, and the job is pretty fun all things considered. Finally, and most importantly, this is just a place with great vibes. Everyone I worked with was very nice, the establishment is clean and welcoming, all of the above. It was great to work at a place that I liked before working there, and leave loving it even more.

There aren't many cons. That said, the pay was very much just minimum wage with fairly small tips relative to other places on the Cape. It was also not particularly easy work; I actually liked this a lot since it was always really engaging, but it definitely wasn't a goof-off job.
