Pros

Small, independently-owned hotel means there isn't a thick book of corporate policies to follow. Focus is on guest experience and employees are encouraged to problem-solve creatively.

Cons

Benefits very limited, departments do not work well together and there's a lot of negativity both within departments and inter-departmentally. The GM is completely hands-off and even employees who have worked there for over a decade are offered only a minimum of benefits and as little pay as management can get away with.

Pros

- There is potential for improvement under new ownership if management changes.

Cons

- Rampant nepotism and a boys’ club culture make advancement or fair treatment nearly impossible. - Sexual harassment is ignored, whether from clients or coworkers, and speaking up results in punishment. - Management uses scare tactics, arbitrarily cuts shifts, and prioritizes favoritism over fairness. - Health and safety are disregarded: bug bombs are used with staff present, and complaints about exposure result in job threats. - Employees were forced to work while ill during the COVID shutdown, even when showing symptoms. - Violent behavior from staff is poorly handled; employees are reprimanded for standing up for themselves while aggressors are protected. - Infestations and poor stock management contribute to a chaotic and unsanitary environment.
