I wanted this role to work because the mission matters, but the employee experience did not match the reputation. Retirement benefits are not competitive compared with other large healthcare systems, and I found HR responses to serious concerns to be inconsistent and often dismissive. When issues were raised, the approach felt more like minimizing risk than fixing root causes.
There has also been significant staffing reduction in my area, described internally as “redeployment,” which created instability and increased workload for remaining clinicians. Morale has dropped, communication has been unclear, and the burden is pushed down to frontline teams.
I also experienced and witnessed leadership communication that felt disrespectful and, at times, biased. Those concerns did not appear to be addressed in a meaningful way.
