Pros

First question that I came across during my onboarding process with the company I just recently joined is "How do I work". Coming from a country where vertical structure management is highly valued and micro-management is being followed. It’s very rare for them to literally ask me how I would like to work or my prefered working set up. At first, it didn't come to my senses the importance of this simple question. But as soon as I started to write it up, I just couldn't stop crying. Crying because I was so overwhelmed with their kindness, genuinity and generosity. Who would have thought that there will be a company who will give you all the leisure of setting things straight up to them to know how they can adjust, support you and provide you with all of your needs given the fact that I haven't proven anything yet to them. Sounds silly, right? I remember back when I was looking for a job and saw their post on LinkedIn, I checked out their profile, their company website and everything was indicated there. Very detailed including the salary, benefits and what to expect along the process. It's too good to be true! That's what I told myself and really don't want to miss my chance of not giving it a shot, though I know, there are a lot of very good SDR's out there(can be even better than me)! But I'm blessed beyond measure to be chosen!Check it out here. Fast forward to this day.. They'll be providing everything from the equipment (e.g Macbook, Airpods and even Iphone) Providing home office equipment if necessary, co-working space or even cover the cost of the best ISP that you can have in the area! Yearly international travel for retreat! Getting paid exactly the same amount indicated on the hiring post(no cost-cutting, no questions asked that's what you'll get!). You can work flexibly depending on how you think it will work for you. Every Human is so approachable and one message away if you need help. Your feedback really matters and they'll even ask you to document it to make sure that it will be addressed and anonymous surveys are performed weekly and bi-weekly. Not to mention that we have a Monthly meeting together with all the bosses, you can ask them anything, they're very transparent! Indeed, everything is for real! It all starts with trust. They make sure that we will be in a position to not worry about making ends meet. They do care for us as much as they do care about the results! I remember Richard Branson’s famous line, “Take care of your employees and they’ll take care of your business.” I will be forever grateful to you Human Made! Hands down to all passionate Humans out there!!!

Cons

Tend to work hard a little too much as I want to pay it forward for my company for all the support they're giving me! (Good thing may manager would always remind me not to overwork and spend some time with the family!)

Pros

I've been working at Human Made for just about 2 years and everything, from the top down, is a breath of fresh air in the world of enterprise-level WordPress development agencies. Executives are open, honest and transparent, the culture is actively trying to foster personal growth, empowerment and diverse interests and ideas and the work is cutting edge, engaging, challenging and forward-thinking. I used to have a list of companies I might like to work at, now I just have one.

Cons

Because Human Made empowers you to think for yourself and take initiative and responsibility for your own work, it's not the sort of place that would work well if you are someone who needs direction or regular check-ins. As a Human Made employee, you need to be willing, and eager, to take initiative, speak for yourself, and solve problems on your own rather than waiting for direction. The company is entirely remote, which can feel isolating, especially if you are not used to remote work.
