Pros

Wonderful staff who are passionate about animals and helping the community.

Cons

The CEO is a complete diva. She’s extremely difficult to work with despite putting on this front that she’s “one of the gang.” She demands to be treated like a celebrity and even commends herself for being so humble. Leadership is very two-faced. They’ll tell you one thing and do another. As a result, you feel no job security and constant anxiety that you are disposable in the company. They will work you until you’re completely exhausted. Then, they will find someone else to burn out and replace you.

Pros

Obviously a great mission to rescue and support pets. The training, veterinary, and behavior teams are knoweldgable, care, and work super hard for far too little.

Cons

While I was there I had three different job descriptions in four months, and not one of the changes was every discussed with me, just handed over to me in a document in an email. Documents and direction were clearly outlined regarding duties, reporting, etc and then spontaneously changed because management didn't want to adhere to it. I was completely afraid to complain about management or ask for support in terms of management not providing tools. I saw a manager literally yell at multiple individuals and made me feel very unsafe in the office with them. IT was rude and acted childish, refusing to communicate properly. They disparaged people in New Jersey and than wondered why the branch there didn't want to collaborate with them. On the kennel side of things, animal care staff wasn't valued and dogs were not properly walked/runs cleaned. Volunteers were bearing the burden of what people should be properly paid to do. Some people just can randomly take time off to work from home, while others are aggressively threatened to work in an office even though there job is not connected to needs there. I feel dumb not looking at the glassdoor reviews before I accepted this job. Bad choice.
