Pros
This job has easily been one of the most accommodating of co-workers schedules I've ever been in. They understand that life comes at you from all angles and we are all just trying our best to roll with the punches. Every coworker I've had has had something occurred to them that demanded time away and never once did any higher-ups push back. It's both good and bad sometimes.
Cons
The reputation IKEA Richmond once had has diminished incredibly. Company events for coworkers has nosedived; summer cookouts, Christmas dinners, dwindling prizes and just festivities all are gone and what remains is depressing. Departments are, on the regular using band-aid solutions and work with broken equipment, this is the case for: IKEA foods, sales and logistics. It's actually more surprising to find a completely functioning department than not. Fix the ice cream machine this is not McDonald's. The pay is noticeably less than all other IKEA employment locations (Coquitlam and CDC). If you are looking at this from another IKEA location do not assume a union will make your life better.
