Pros
The owners are wonderful and treat their employees with class. They do cool events around the holidays. They even hand out Christmas bonuses for all employees. The company is financially fit! Working in IT has lots of learning curves. You can learn a lot on your own, but there is no leadership from above.
Cons
The IT group was new at less than two years and a micro style of running the group. The upper level does not understand IT so Micro can get away with it doing what he wants. One claims to be flexible but yells at you for coming back from lunch late, 10 minutes late or not jumping on executive level help desk. When asked who it was he would not say. This place has lots of small company values so this gets you heavy politics and hard to navigate through to HR. There is no growth here in IT. In general, many people have been there too long and need to retire or move on. They need to include more younger people from the workforce. New ideas need to flow to keep the company’s vision in place.
