Pros

I see the potential and it could be massive, the potential to grow and learn in a global company, with intelligent people, interesting work and a fairly flat (although barriers definitely exist) mentality that allows you the opportunity to get involved in lots of projects and try your hand at things you wouldn't be able to at other organisations. The potential to grow organically, not just via acquisition and the potential to really further yourself surrounded by intelligent and friendly people. Actions are being taken to try and improve morale - charity events, work drinks/events, football games etc - however, this isn't broadcasted beyond our round walls. We should be using our most accessible tools to show these things and try to improve our image. We're a "technology" company who don't use the easiest form of technology available to reach people - social networking. It could be great.

Cons

For a flat organisation that allows you access to (almost) everyone there sure are some barriers preventing you from doing basic tasks (the potential to get involved in things beyond your day to day is good, but basic tasks not so much). I understand this is a business and it is natural in businesses to make some decisions away from the general population, but some scope or a heads up on what is coming so you can work towards it in your team would be great. An open attitude would go so far at ION.

Pros

Wonderful colleagues for 10 years until TPTB gutted the staff.

Cons

Decades long employees being fired in less than 4 minutes with zero warning during a work day. Heartbreaking to watch the company just turn their backs on all SMEs for entire systems. HR is not set up for employees, it is set up to protect the company. If you have a problem with the job, hire an attorney
