Pros
1. Flexible work from home policy (with caveats) 2. Stock options (with caveats in cons section) 3. Growth opportunities, but in an unhealthy way
Cons
1. Pay is average at best considering the standards they set during the interview process 2. Chaotic project management means timelines slip and they expect that since you work from home, you should be answering messages (and sometimes working) well into the evening with no overtime pay. 3. They offer some paltry stock options with 5+ year vesting and at pretty high valuations, which means the value there is slim to none. 4. This is related to why stock options are kinda pointless. Turnover is really high. I've seen teams disintegrate in a matter of a couple months and several people in middle management left this past year. They've spent months looking for several positions that still remain unfilled. Some people get promoted into management positions simply because they're the only one of the team that didn't leave. If you want a promotion without really working for it, just join Ipsy and take it easy for a year or two, you'll easily fail upwards as long as you stick around.
