Pros

- Fun culture - Work with great people - Open office environment

Cons

It is interesting to note that my last review which was negatively skewed was published and then removed. Looks like IZEA is trying to keep only the most positive available to boost their score. - Low pay, there are instances where lower level staff will take up a second job in order to survive. - Raises are few and far between, most raise requests are rejected even though you are promised "next time" over and over again. The higher level staff though are swimming in $$$. - As a result, within the last 6 months, an overwhelming number of employees have quit and moved on to much better paying jobs. - Lots of confusion about what the company actually does - are we a tech company or are we the leaders in social media marketing? Figure it out and stick with it. - Work life balance is poor, especially for the Campaign Management team. Lots of us were putting in late night and weekend hours in order to make our campaigns work and keep our clients happy. The pay doesn't justify these additional hours. - Lots of negative talk around the office: either about additional hours that need to be put in, hard work that goes unnoticed, people talking about applying for new jobs, lots of catty/gossip behavior from the youngly-skewed employees, etc. - Lack of management and direction within HQ, no accountability or support. Lots of the senior team works remote which makes no sense. IZEA may look pretty from the outside, social events, company cruises, colorful office, etc, but it's all an optical illusion.

Reviews are important to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to submit your review. I assure you, we don’t have the ability to remove reviews. We know these reviews are also important to anyone looking to work at IZEA. That is why we are continuously encouraging all our employees to submit reviews here. Here’s a link to a help article that may help you troubleshoot what happened to your review in question. http://help.glassdoor.com/article/My-employees-reviews-are-not-posting/en_US IZEA has been in business for over a decade and our people are the driving force behind what we do. You can't be successful for as long as we have without having strong company leadership in tandem with a concrete belief-system/company culture as you pointed-out in your remarks. This is what we believe has lead to our strong team member retention rate as well as being named a top place to work for multiple years running. In regards to salary, there are certainly positions that receive an entry level salary based on the skills and experience needed for that position. We no longer approach raises based on a cost of living adjustment, we implemented performance based raises in 2016. We do our annual reviews and people are given raises based on that performance. As it relates to Campaign Management, we appointed six new Pod Leaders and added a new VP-level layer of leadership over the last year to provide additional management and directional focus for the group. These individuals are spread throughout our Winter Park headquarters in addition to other offices. That said, we certainly recognize that IZEA may not be for everyone, and that's okay. It sounds like you were pretty unhappy during your time with the company and your experience was not aligned to how others see the organization. As opposed to anonymous critique after the fact, we would have preferred to help you address your concerns directly via a confidential conversation with any member of our leadership team.

Pros

Great coworkers and an industry that’s interesting, even if the company itself may not be the best place to build a long term career.

Cons

The company culture has changed drastically with the new CEO and leadership team. While employees are asked to provide feedback or raise questions, those conversations can feel unsafe or discouraged due to the tone and reactions from leadership. The environment no longer feels supportive, and the overall vibe has become negative. Career growth opportunities are extremely limited, and pay does not match the responsibilities.
