Pros

We were asked by management to leave a review only if we had good things to say but I do think balanced views are fairer for potential employees. The good... - You could manage your own diary to a point (although the high caseloads and constant moving of goal posts reduced the flexibility) - Small pockets of people and teams that were generally friendly and supportive although with all the acquisitions, this is being watered down even more

Cons

The not so good... - High caseloads with only funded learners counting towards this so you could be given 10 out of funded learners and have 65 learners but this apparently didn't matter - No salary scales which is demotivating - No career progression for coaches - Constant re-placing of learners with new coaches due to coaches leaving or learner/employer complaints. You could have a great caseload you've worked hard to engage and keep on track and then suddenly you've got 5 disengaged learners that are very time intensive and also count towards your bonus criteria even though you've only just acquired them. You're told 'it's because you're a great coach, you can sort them out' when really it's punishment for competence, the better you are at your job, the more work you get given. - No yearly pay rises for at least 4 years so staff become worse off by staying with the company. Some benefits have been introduced but some of these only apply to small percentages of the workforce - Patronising management. Often acting like coaches haven't had a career before joining the company. Made to attend company wide monthly sessions where people who don't do our job tell us how to do our job. Why not get coaches to share best practice and what works well as well? - More changing of goal posts without discussing with coaches first e.g. suddenly all learner reviews have to be face to face even if they're 3 hours away. We were told we could get another coach to do the review for us if they're closer but then where is the benefit to that? That coach doesn't know them, or where they're at with learning. You could do a handover first but yet again, it just adds to the ever-growing job list and expectations of coaches.

Pros

fantastic people (non management) remote working

Cons

I was at Impact Futures/Childcare Company for a little over 8 months, when recruited I was told about how amazing everything is, how friendly everyone is, CPD and qualifications are not a problem, how they are going through a transition and workload will drop significantly very soon. What actually happened was i was thrown into a role i was unexperienced for, had a manager who was more worried about KPIs than anything else, have personal issues, didn't want to know. I was met with unmotivated learners who had several coaches before me, had heard the empty promises before from the company. New staff were brought in, only 1 remained after 3 months, people are leaving all the time, management is terrible and really do not care about workloads, learners or staff. CPD is non existent, promise of qualifications didn't happen.
