Pros
Among most peers, the working environment was overwhelmingly positive, marked by collaboration, support, and mutual respect. A strong sense of teamwork, professionalism, a shared commitment to high-quality work, and even humor was evident in daily interactions. Ideas were exchanged freely, expertise was valued, and contributions were recognized, creating an environment where people could learn from one another and grow professionally.
Cons
In the department where I worked, my experience was overwhelmingly negative due to a persistently toxic work environment. Favoritism, hostility, micromanagement, punitive practices, and surveillance were pervasive and deeply ingrained in the culture. Despite consistently exceeding expectations, working long hours, and delivering results recognized by peers and colleagues, my efforts were often dismissed or deemed insufficient. The most demoralizing aspect was the persistent verbal criticism and belittling from direct supervisors. This behavior steadily eroded my confidence and sense of self-worth, making it difficult to feel valued or respected—not just as an employee, but as a person.
