Pros
Interior decoration of the offices is nice. Most jobs are somewhat local. Fully suited for machine building(Mechanical Design, Controls, Panel build, fab shop, build floor) Owners do not appear to be sexist or racist.
Cons
There are so many. The owners are solely out for profit. They could care less about quality. I've been embarrassed multiple times in front of customers upon delivery of our machines due to the obvious lack of quality. Program/Project Management. This is huge. I don't believe any of the Program managers have had a career or education with program managing before IA. However, they control everything, from major engineering design choices to the owner's opinions of others. Projects are always late, hours are always over budget, and always incomplete. The worst part is that I have seen almost every position replaced except for Program Managers, CFO, and the Shop/Build Manager(in the last year!). Upper management continues to fire builders and engineers or push them to quit as if they are the problem. The same with the Electrical Managers, Mechanical Managers, and Controls Managers. In two years, I am the 10th Controls Engineer to leave in a group that stays around the size of 8. I’ve seen at least half as many Mechanical Designers/Detailers leave. IA has had two General Managers, two Mechanical Engineering Managers, two Controls Engineering Managers, three Electrical Build Managers, and two Shop Managers. Even the original quotation team has quit and moved on. If everybody in the company has been replaced, except for the program managers and the projects continue to fail one after the other, where would you think the problem is? Take my advice and run unless you are desperate.
