Pros
Relatively high pay There are some very kind and capable colleagues around
Cons
Severe lack of respect for work life balance - (expect to receive work to do past working hours. Also expect messages and other work related things to do from your bosses on weekends, while you’re on leave, on mc, etc) I received requests to set up or change meeting invites while I was annual leave, and while I was on sick leave due to a bad case of covid. Clueless management - keeps changing directions and decisions with no clear idea of what they want. Very vague instructions. Staff are expected to churn out a large amount of work to be presented to bosses, and over 95% of the time, this is just guesswork about what the bosses want (or the bosses change their minds), so all their efforts go straight down the sewage. Like another reviewer here said, only join if you are ok with doing meaningless work. Ridiculous working arrangements - telling staff at 11am to go back to office on a wfh day for a ~1 hour meeting at 2.30pm (some of us live over an hour away from the office, what about our lunch time then?), Asking staff to go back for a 1 hour meeting in office even though the meeting has been done online for nearly a year just fine, thus wasting our time and energy on commuting, and even asking staff to go back to office for a meeting at 5-6pm. Yup you get the idea. Please avoid working at this place at all cost if you treasure autonomy over your time and life. Meeting timings and dates are constantly changed - be mentally prepared for an insane amount of changes to times and dates of meetings due to clashes in schedules. Seems like some people here have great difficulty making up their mind. This problem can actually be easily solved if people here shared their outlook calendars with each other… but management didn’t want to accept this very simple, cost-free, and effective suggestion. Bad people management - some bosses here are absolute nightmares to work for. Absolutely dreadful. Shouting, taunting, and personal insults are accepted as ‘the norm’ in certain departments with exceptionally high turnover rates. You’re going to spend some money on counselling after you work with these atrocious personalities. They set unreasonable deadlines with unreasonable expectations, then scold you in front of the whole team for being unable to meet their expectations. Training is barely existent. You are expected to learn most things on your own. Some bosses are very nice people, but seem to be forced to impose some crazy timelines on their staff due to pressure from upper management. A really sad sight to see, and an even sadder experience to go through.
