Pros

- Staff is hardworking and friendly - You never have the same day twice in retail - Priceless management experience - Usually a great environment unless a district manager passed through

Cons

If you're not a man, it's very difficult to progress in this company. This a "good old boys" company through and through. I value my time here for the experience in management that I did learn. I mostly learned how not to handle a team of individuals and to respect my employees. Lack of benefits concerning holidays and how sick pay cane be used were a concern.

Pros

-Rotating Weekends (Work Sat/Off Sun then Off Sat/Work Sun) -Flexible Scheduling

Cons

-You are expected to do a lot of work for very little pay -Being promoted is extremely unlikely and any wage increases is purely for inflation, not because they think you deserve it. -If you do not fight for higher wages they will not give it (I knew someone who has worked full-time in the deli for years longer than I, but somehow he made less than me) - Deli Management is very clique like, the assistant store manager has many complaints filed against him. -Expected to work holidays, no holiday pay or overtime (ever)
