Dynamic work, supportive team but difficult content - Director, Product Management Integrated Healthcare Association Employee Review

Pros

IHA has a really strong culture and great team spirit. People work hard but they also know when to unplug and enjoy each others' company. You get to have lots of autonomy in your work and there are many opportunities to collaborate cross-functionally. It's a small team of incredibly intelligent people working on very difficult industry-wide problems. Each day is satisfying in its own way. Leadership has high expectations but they're understanding and supportive. Office is very conveniently located above the BART station and is close to the restaurant scene, and there's a culture of lunch outings.

Cons

The work is complex and difficult. The content is complicated and information flows fast. The team is small so we rely on outsourcing a lot of our work and every aspect of the work comes with heavy vendor management. Work/life balance can suffer if you don't create boundaries early on. Each day is satisfying but you walk away with battle scars.

Pros

I've only been here a short time and I'm still getting used to the work/people/culture. So far it's been fantastic in terms of the working environment. I come from the high tech field, so in contrast I'd say IHA is a breath of fresh air. I feel like I have a real impact here, even as an individual contributor. I don't get the feeling that I'm just a cog in a wheel. I also feel that my voice is always heard, which wasn't the case in my past. So far it's been a very pleasant experience with the folks here. It's great not to have drama at my workplace.

Cons

IHA has a very start-up vibe, which some may not find attractive. Don't expect to be hand held very much, and there's a lot of self learning to be done. You're expected to be contributing to projects even though you're still onboarding.
