Pros
Staff is passionate about quality. Standards are high and the books are wonderful. The authors are smart, passionate, and creative.
The team is very hard-working. IVP is a great place to grow intellectually and professionally.
It's a small company, so you get to know everyone and cross-departmental communication, while difficult at times, is better than most places I've worked.
Values and mission are pretty clear. When you are on board, it makes the work very exciting and meaningful.
Great benefits package.
Cons
Burnout is pretty normal at IVP.
Top-down communication is poor.
Staff workload can be intense, since there are fewer employees to draw upon.
Managers often work 7 days a week and far into the night. That work ethic does not model healthy work/life balance and makes everyone feel behind.
Because it's a small company, advancement opportunities are limited.
Salaries are on the lower side.
If you don't connect with the mission of the company, you're likely to feel cynical or disengaged.
