Terrible place to work - Sales Assistant Internacionale Employee Review

Pros

It's quite easy to get a job there and the work involved isn't particularly hard. The co-workers are nice too. It is quite easy to work your way up if a vacancy opens at your store. Very good staff discount and you can wear clothes bought from the store as uniform.

Cons

Minimum wage pay and over-time was not seen as voluntary, if they needed you in you were not allowed to say no to it. I was often called up at 8:30 am to be told that I had half an hour to get into work. Management would literally scream at you across the store just because they were in a bad mood, so I would often volunteer to monitor the fitting rooms so that I was tucked out of the way where I couldn't be shouted at. Work officially stopped at 5:30 pm when the store closed but we were all required to stay an extra half an hour unpaid to hoover and mop the floors.

Pros

Easy tasking, overtime usually available, good discount

Cons

very boring, monotonous, given too many hours when you have said you can't do them/don't want them, management are hard to work with at times, no staff uniform allowance although you are expected to wear their clothes, expected to travel to other stores to cover, late hours during stocktakes (I have been in until 1am at times)
