Pros

The best parts about working at Inverse Paradox include the friendly atmosphere cultivated by management. Company events such as laser tag, dinner, happy hours, advertising agency field days, holiday parties, etc. help give everyone the opportunity to know each other and to become friends. The office has an open floor plan which allows everyone to talk. People generally have lunch in the kitchen, which is a dedicated no work zone. This allows for friendly conversation and a shelter from stress. The kitchen is often fully stocked, which often saves me and other employees time and money. In addition to the friendly atmosphere, there are many work- related perks that come with employment at Inverse Paradox. Employees can use “flex time” to adjust their work hours to their personal schedules. For example, if you do not want to use vacation time for a short appointment, you can work additional hours a different day in the week to make up the time you will have missed at the appointment. There is also a relaxed policy for working remotely. I also find the work very stimulating and fast paced, but accommodating to those who hope to learn new skills. Management even encourages employees to attend work conferences and classes, and allow for resources for you to attend such things. I also appreciate the open door policies of the owner and upper management. This allows employees to easily discuss any issues they are having.

Cons

Like any job, there are some downsides. Sometimes, a fast pace and increased workload can be expected, which leads to stressful times at the office. During these stressful times you may be asked to expand your role at the company, as it is a smaller company and resources can be limited. As a result, there are times where you can feel overwhelmed, but management seems to do a good job of recognizing when you get overloaded. Finally, there are some times when management recognizes a problem and takes some time to fix it, leading to minor frustrations. Most of my complaints are small and typical of other companies, but the environment and flexibility provided by employment at Inverse Paradox makes it all worth it.
