Pros
The main thing I enjoy about Isler is the people! Everyone is very helpful, upbeat, and open. You feel like you are respected as a person and not viewed as just another cog in the machine.
The partner group is very flexible and understanding; as long as you act professional you will be treated as a professional.
The culture is very locally oriented with every effort being made to use recycled products, encourage alternative commuting, and provide staff with time to volunteer in the community.
All employees are invited to participate and help shape the firm and its future, and management actually listens to staff ideas.
Membership in the McGladrey Alliance provides access to training and resources from a global accounting firm.
Cons
As a one office firm there is no dedicated IT department or staff.
Long hours during busy season (but no more than with any other accounting firm).
First year staff may work back to back busy seasons in tax and audit until they decide which direction to go exclusively.
