Pros

-Great co-workers -Good salary -Plenty of responsibility -Opportunity to work both as part of a team and individually -During the "off" season, there's diversity in the work you're doing (teaching, marketing for company, etc.) -Opportunities to rise in ranks -Understanding superiors

Cons

-During application season, workload gets pretty intense; for a couple of weeks it's not uncommon to be staying at the office until 8 or 9. -Company is/was in process of expanding, so there were frequent changes in policy -Training was initially sparse, but this has improved -Communication among upper management could be improved

Pros

-Great coworkers -You're working with smart students -Good benefits and opportunities for growth

Cons

The nature of the work means that you have periods of the year during which you are very busy, but that is balanced out by periods of the year where you are able to focus on longer-term projects

Pros

- flexible working schedule on off-seasons, great for traveling - HR director is approachable, i felt like it was pretty easy to schedule time off - salary is not eye-popping but given the cost of living and the low taxes (basic package is 250-290k rmb for entry level consultants, which comes out to ~37k to ~43k USD, but tax is only like 10%, so it's like getting a 60 something k package in NY. i was able to live more comfortably than i did in the US while still paying off my student loans, even though i traveled often. - people were awesome - students were really fun, there were a few bad apples but most of them were cool kids - management was ok. i think they were just too busy to focus on each individual employee, but the senior staff were really helpful and nice

Cons

- i didn't really think of being in the position or in china long term, so i didn't get as many responsibilities as others, which meant i did more menial stuff. - like everybody says, application season gets busy so be prepared to work OT - sometimes you get a difficult student you have to work with, which is a grind
